Get Rid of Yellow Oak – 1994 Home Receives a Face Lift & More

This family with twin boys wanted a larger home with a much bigger yard within their existing school district. After many years of research and shopping they purchased a 20 year-old home.

This house has great bones, some rooms only required paint and new flooring, others received a partial remodel and a few of the rooms where given a total make-over. All walls were refreshed with new paint, oak hardwoods refinished a deeper color and many of the oak built-ins were refinished with either paint & glaze or a dark stain. The master bath and kitchen received that greatest amount of remodeling attention.

So many are trying to get rid of yellow oak that is throughout their homes – this project is a perfect example of how to modify while preserving the original structure.
